View many species of waterfowl, shorebirds, raptors, herons, passerines and a few sandhill cranes in season at this migratory and wintering birding hotspot in BC's Fraser River estuary. Thousands of lesser snow geese and other waterfowl visit the refuge from October through April. The George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary is part of the Alaksen National Wildlife Area which lies in the heart of the Fraser estuary -- an ecological site of international importance to millions of birds, fish and other wildlife.
