Start from Road 462 off Hwy 410 east of Chinook pass, trail 967 to Bear Gap, PCT trail 2000 along the ridge to Pickhandle Gap, then Scout Pass, then trails 987 and 967A back to 967.
Meadows smolder with fall's fire, the air is crisp and frost etches the fallen leaves where they lie. A ridge walk entirely above the trees, a fine way to wind down the hiking season.
