Sat, Sept 22, 2012 - Rock Garden Clinic, Freshwater Bay – structured SK-IV environment in a stunning location near Port Angeles. This workshop is geared toward those who have paddled at least a couple of years, have had some SK-III experience, and are familiar with bracing and basic boat maneuvering. Good chance to learn more about boat control in restricted environments; assessing your local environment for risk and solutions; or just want to have fun playing around rocks. Especially valuable for trip leaders looking to add a backup margin of safety to their SK-III/IV trips. While not intended to trash your boats or your bodies, there is potential that your boat may leave with more scratches than it came with. Helmet, gloves, and immersion wear are required. We will be swimming to refresh our re-entry techniques in controlled water before heading into rock zones.
