Meet at Misery Point Boat Launch at 10:00am (Discover Pass Required). Join us for a one-way paddle from Misery Point to Frenchmen’s cove on the Hood Canal and an ecotour of a restored estuary site. The route follows the Hood Canal shoreline south, into Clark's Lagoon, past Stavis Bay, Hoods Point, and Guillemot Cove, to DNR land at a newly restored estuary. My family owned tree & shellfish farm property here until 2008, when the Department of Natural Resources purchased it. I will show earlier photos of the farm, and will lead a tour of the property showing the “deconstruction” and the estuary restoration. Once at the DNR land we'll walk the property and have lunch and I’ll show select pictures from the last 75 years. There will be a short walking tour. Drivers will be shuttled back to their cars. Total paddling distance 7nm.

Immersion wear required.

Directions to Launch: From Seabeck general store (last grocery), travel 1.2 miles SW on the Seabeck Hwy. Right onto Miami Beach Rd. At 0.9 miles, stay right on Miami Beach Rd. Stay to the right 0.3 miles later at Y, then turn left into Misery Point parking lot. There is a pit toilet there.
