This is a dream hike for families. The hike will be at a 8 to 10 year old pace (for both girls and boys). Adults MUST have a child participating for this Family Activities hike. The views of Mt. Rainier, small ponds along the way, fall colors, and Dewey Lakes--are all awesome! The trail is in excellent condition featuring an easy to moderate grade. This is a dream hike for families. The hike will be at a 8 to 10 year old pace (for both girls and boys). Adults MUST have a child participating for this Family Activities hike. The views of Mt. Rainier, small ponds along the way, fall colors, and Dewey Lakes--are all awesome! The trail is in excellent condition featuring an easy to moderate grade. There are multiple opportunities during the trip: berry picking, wading, and most of all having fun! The loop trip goes around the west side Naches peak with excellent views of Mt. Rainier eventually reaching a pass that connects to the Pacific Crest Trail where we will descend to Dewey Lakes. We will return along the Pacific Crest to the pass and loop back on the east side of Naches Peak eventually returning to Little and Big Typso Lakes. Please bring plenty of snacks, water, sunscreen, sun hat, layered clothing,raingear, good hiking shoes, and lunch. Thanks! When Sunday September 23rd 9:30 AM. (please be at the parking lot at about 9:15). Driving time from Renton about 1.5 hours or less. We will have lunch at beautiful Dewey Lakes. Driving: From Enumclaw, drive State Highway 410 east 44 miles through Mount Rainier National Park to 0.25 mile east of the Chinook Pass summit. Park in the first Parking lot on the left. This is very close to the west side of Typso Lake. We will meet a the parking lot before heading out together to the trail head on the opposite side of the road.
