Royal Basin is one of the prettiest alpine lake basins in the Olympics, whether you hike it during prime wildflower season or at the height of fall color. Majestic peaks surround the lake basin.

This trip is a companion to the previous overnight to Marmot Pass via Big Quilcene. For those doing both it will be an opportunity to see the country from both ends.
