This is one of the premier high-ridge sections of the entire PCT and we should be passing through it along with a lot of through-hikers. Views are stunning, but it is a challenging trip so participants need to be experienced backpackers in very good condition and able to pack light and move fast. We will arrange for someone to drop us off at Rainy, and then take the bus back to Seattle from Manning Park (which will take a full day at the end of the trip). I would advise you save October 1 as well in case of possible delays along the route. Participants will need to complete and submit a form to the Canadian government to cross legally over the border on the PCT - the form can be found at www.pcta.org/pdf/Canada-Entry-Form.pdf . But if snow is early or weather is forecasted to be very poor the trip may be cancelled. More info will be available as the date gets closer.
