Start at about 4800’. Climb up to 6150’ to the PCT. Continue to climb and descend throughout the 16 miles on the Trail from 30’-380’, before dropping to the TH at 4800’. Total Gain – 2200’
Hike – Start at the TH for Trail 1156 and hike 2.2 miles to the PCT. Go North. You hike 2.0 miles to Scout Pass and then another 0.4 miles to a trail junction. You’ll go the left and hike a short distance to another trail junction. At the next trail junction, it is presumed you will go right and hike another 0.4 miles passing Big Crow Basin. You will go right and another short distance to another trail junction. You’ll go left. In about 1.0 miles you will reach “Bernard Saddle”. You will go North3.3 miles, passing Martinson Gap. Head North 1.2 miles. Stay on the PCT another 0.7 miles. You continue 4 miles past Arch Rock. At the trail junction near Louisiana Saddle, you’ll stay left and go 3 miles to the next trail junction for trail 1186. Another 1.1 miles, you’ll reach the trail junction for Trail 1175. You will have another mile, plus 0.4 miles shared with FR 7080.
GETTING THERE – From Maple Valley, it is estimated to be about a 50 mile drive that could take about 75 minutes. It should take about an 60-75 minutes to stage vehicles.
From Hwy 410 (Enumclaw / Greenwater), Approximately 2 miles past Greenwater (just past Fire Station????) you will come to FR 70 where you will take a left. Minimum number of cars will proceed to the finish TH, while the rest can wait at Hwy 410. Go 10. 2 miles to where the pavement ends. Continue straight 5.1 miles on now dirt FR 70 past MP 15 to dirt 7080. Turn left (N) and go 1.6 miles to the PCT and a PCT “detour” sign. (The PCT goes north from here. However, it shares FR 7080 to the south for approximately 0.4 miles.) Leave the vehicles in an area near the trail. Re-trace your steps to Hwy 410 and re-join the other cars. Continue east on Hwy 410 approximately 12. 5 miles. Take a left onto Crystal Mtn Blvd. This intersection can be a waiting place for while one or more cars are staged at the end of the hike. Travel up Crystal Mtn. Blvd, approximately 6 miles, to a Road Ends 500 ft, just before the lodge. Take a hard left. Follow the Daycare Drop Off sign and go 0.1 mile to a parking area near the Bullion Basin Trail 1156 TH. Position a car(s).

Mountaineers Members that ARE part of the PCT Series have “Leader Permission” to sign up for an event after May 14th based on their lottery trip choices.
