Mt Adams dominates the landscape view along this section of the PCT. The trail climbs through cathedral-like old growth forests and traverses sprawling meadows of wildflowers. Distance is 23 miles with 2600 elevation gain. This backpack will begin at Forest Service Road 23 trailhead and end at Forest Service Road 5603 or Road 115. Cars will need to be set up at both trailheads.
Due to the long drive and car shuttle set up,camping on the prior Friday evening close to the trail head may be highly recommended. It is also possible that the backpack may be extended to Monday if more time is needed. This decision will be made several weeks proir to the event.
