Start at 6226 and climb to the PCT at 6440’. Leave the PCT at 6150’, with one bigger climb in between. Total Gain – 722’.
HIKE – Take the PCT North. You’ll hike about 2 miles to Sourdough Gap. You’ll go 3.2 miles to Bear Gap. Going toward Pickhandle Gap, you’ll go 1.1 miles, then another 0.4 miles. Finally another 0.6 miles, near Blue Bell Pass. You will get off the PCT onto Trail 1156 hiking the last 2.2 miles to the Crystal Mtn Resort.
GETTING THERE – From Maple Valley, it is estimated to be about a 60 mile drive that could take about 90 minutes. It should take about an hour to stage vehicles.
From Hwy 410 (Enumclaw / Greenwater), take a left onto Crystal Mtn Blvd. This intersection can be a waiting place for while one or more cars are staged at the end of the hike. Travel up Crystal Mtn. Blvd, approximately 6 miles, to a Road Ends 500 ft, just before the lodge. Take a hard left. Follow the Daycare Drop Off sign and go 0.1 mile to a parking area near the Bullion Basin Trail 1156 TH. Position a car(s). Re-trace your steps to Hwy 410.
Travel south on Hwy 410. Stay on Hwy 410 after passing the Cayuse Pass interchange. Just past Chinook Pass, park in the parking lot on the left, just after the PCT “Overpass”.
