Hike through second growth forest and down a heavily forested ravine on undeveloped Miller Peninsula State Park to a remote beach and spit on the Strait of Juan de Fuca with views of Protection Island. Thompson
Spit and its remarkable lagoon lie 3/4 mile east of where the trail reaches the shoreline and may not be reachable if the tide is too high. Beach walk traverses slippery cobblestones, so sturdy footwear is recommended.
