Skiing the Steeps at Alpental with the Washington Alpine Club A weekend intensive instructional sessionto help you master Alpental’s steep and ungroomed terrain. Instruction provided by high level PSIA instructors with extensive Alpental experience. Over the course of the weekend classes will cover the expert terrain on the upper chair and into the backcountry – (conditions permitting) Alpental Pro Patrol will supervise entry to the backcountry and issue backcountry cards as needed. Please review Alpental’s Backcountry Safety page *** http://www.summitatsnoqualmie.com/Mountains/Safety/859/Backcountry-Safety *** Students will need to have avalanche safety equipment (beacon, shovel, probe) Overnight accommodations Friday and Saturday night at the rustic and charming Washington Alpine Club cabin along the Alpental road. *** Dates: Saturday and Sunday March 16th and 17th *** Meeting time / Place: Meet at Alpental plaza fireplace at 8:30 AM Morning session from 9:00AM to 11:00AM Afternoon Session from 12:30PM to 2:30PM *** Ages: 18+ *** Ski Levels: You'll need to be able to link turns on Black terrain for this class. Intent is to be skiing double black terrain well by the end of the weekend. *** Student / Instructor ratio: 6:1 *** Cost: $200-- does not include lift tickets -- Does include overnight cabin fees at the Washington Alpine Club cabin for Friday and Saturday nights.
