Dungeness Spit Lighthouse

This is a hike out along a 5 mile long (one way) sand spit to a active lighthouse. This hike is located a little north of Sequim. BEFORE PLANNING OR GOING ON THIS HIKE, CHECK THE TIDE TABLES: http://www.saltwatertides.com/dynamic.dir/washingtonsites.html. A Low Tide of 1 foot or less (minus tide is even better) at the midpoint of your hiking day is recommended. Hike along a narrow piece of beach that leads to a light house and views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The spit is a wildlife sanctuary and home to several species of bird. $3 day use fee per person or family. Golden Eagle or Golden Age passes are accepted. NW Forest pass is not accepted.
