Ferry Dock in West Seattle
Our hike on Vashon Island will follow quiet country roads along the north end of Quartermaster Harbor. As we pass Tramp Harbor, we'll reach Maury Island connected to Vashon by a narrow isthmus. From here, we'll head to Point Robinson which offers spectacular views of East Passage and passing ships. We'll eat our packed lunches next to the lighthouse before heading back along Luana Beach Road.
Kathy Biever (206-283-9047), eskay39@comcast.net) and Julie Miller are co-leaders of the Island hike series. Sign up online or with Program Center. Leaders will take Rapid Ride C at 3rd and Pike, departing at 8:35am to reach Fauntleroy ferry dock. Ferry leaves at 9:25 am. After arriving Vashon, group will take a bus to the start of the hike on SW Quartermaster Road. Bring lunch and passes or money for bus and ferry fares.
