Kids entering grades 1-7 (ages 6-12/13) join The Mountaineers for week-long adventure full of Mountaineers Activities! Kids will have a chance to try a variety of outdoor activities, which may include: climbing, hiking, kayaking, navigation, photography, outdoor cooking, first aid, shelter building, fire building or basic wilderness skills. Each week has it's own theme - click on each individual week to view the specifics of that week's theme. Each week will include fun games and activities, an earth stewardship component, and outdoor skills development, all led by skilled instructors. While each session allows for plenty of climbing time, we mix up other outdoor skills so that each session, campers get to learn something new! Camp is Monday-Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm. Field trip days may run longer - check with the specific week for more information. A sample of weekly schedule for Junior Mountaineers: Monday: Introductions, team building, climbing, swimming Tuesday: Games, leave no trace, map & compass, swimming Wednesday: Hiking field trip to Anderson Lakes, Photography Thursday: Kayaking in Lake Washington, climbing Friday: Scavenger Hunt and Family Day

July 29-August 2 is Mountains Week! We'll learn mountain skills each day, including Mountain Weather, hiking skills and climbing skills. Our field trip will take us to North Bend, where the Explorers (ages 10-13) will rock climb, the Pioneers and Vikings (ages 7-9) will hike up Rattlesnake Ledge, and the Trailblazers (age 6) will hike around the lake and explore the Cedar River Watershed Education Center.
