Winter Scramble of Malcolm (S4/T2) is 3,800 ft elevation gain and 11 miles round trip on the Teanaway Butte & Mt Stuart USGS quads. Leaving from the Johnson Creek TH just beyond Beverley Creek Campground on the North Fork of the Teanaway River we'll make a loop, first heading northwest on trail 1383 to the Koppen Mountain trail (1225) junction. Winter Scramble of Malcolm (S4/T2) is 3,800 ft elevation gain and 11 miles round trip on the Teanaway Butte & Mt Stuart USGS quads. Leaving from the Johnson Creek TH just beyond Beverley Creek Campground on the North Fork of the Teanaway River we'll make a loop, first heading northwest on trail 1383 to the Koppen Mountain trail (1225) junction. We'll head south on 1225 leaving the trail on the westerly ridge leading to Malcolm Mountain. Returning to 1225, we'll had southeast to the junction with trail 1235. If there's time we'll visit Johnson Mountain in passing. At the trail junction with 1383.1 we'll head north and back down into the Johnson Creek watershed and this will complete the loop back the the Johnson Creek TH.
