US-2, Smith Brook R parking bulge ΒΌ m of Yodelin on the west bound lanes

Ascend Smith Brook road and forest (avoiding avalanche slopes) to Union Peak and the traverse ridgeline to summit of Jove. If conditions favorable ski gladed north slope to the shores of Lake Janus and return via Union Gap. 11 miles, 2600 ft elevation gain.
