2700 ft climb to ridge top, and 600 ft descent to Blanca lake. Total 3300 ft.

This is a strenuous hike to a very beautiful lake. This is on many people’s list of one of their favorite hikes. Everyone talks about the green color of the water, which is fed by the Columbia Glacier. The lake is surrounded by rugged peaks, making a perfect setting for a high mountain lake. This is a difficult hike, due to the steepness of the trail. We will climb 2700 feet in the first 3 miles, and then descend 600 feet in a little less than a mile to the lake.
