Aug. 17th - 19th, One of the most beautiful places to visit in the Northwest is Orcas Island. A ferry ride away to some of the most spectacular views, situated on a forested island Standing in the tower on top of Mt. Constitution you can see Canada and beautiful sunsets. 30 miles of hiking trails, our own private beach on Cascade Lake and a dock for fishing; outdoor amphitheater with fire circle and covered shelter; volleyball and basketball areas. Rustic main lodge with a commercial-sized kitchen; three duplexes sleep 28 each with attached restrooms and showers. Two A-frames sleep eight each; four cabins sleep 10 each; restrooms and showers nearby. Camp Moran provides opportunities for mountain biking, hiking, fishing and swimming. Enjoy two nights and 3 days surrounded by tall trees and deer. Supply your own sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries and bug spray. Bring your own lunch for Sat. and Sun., and a flashlight. Earplugs are suggested for light sleepers. You may also bring bicycles, kayaks, swimming suits and shorts, boots for hiking, and your musical instruments for the bonfire Friday and Sat. night. Plenty of marshmellows for smores. PLEASE BRING WOOD! (If you can bring an armful that would be appreciated). Take the ferry on Friday out of Anacortes to Orcas Island. I will help with carpooling as the date gets closer. ELC opens at 2 p.m. I will be sending more information, ferry schedules and maps on the area. A few crock pots of chowder and soup, bread, chips & salsa will be waiting for you on Friday. Free canoes, life vests and a kayak are available. $60 for members, $75 non-members, includes dinner Friday & Saturday, plus Sat. and Sun. breakfast, and lodging.
