Meet at 8AM. We'll launch from the La Conner boat ramp at about 9:00, which is 1 hour before low tide, which is actually at 10:06 AM. We'll paddle south in the channel towards Goat Island. After landing on the north side of the island we'll explore the forests, meadows, and early 1900's remnants of Fort Whitman's gun emplacements. If we're lucky we'll see various raptors and other birds. We'll then paddle around counterclockwise to the south side of the island, explore a few sloughs if time... More

After landing on the north side of the island we'll explore the forests, meadows, and early 1900's remnants of Fort Whitman's gun emplacements. If we're lucky we'll see various raptors and other birds. We'll then paddle around counterclockwise to the south side of the island, explore a few sloughs if time and conditions permit and then return to La Conner on the flood via the fish hole in the jetty. We'll gather after at the La Conner Brewery for liquid refreshments and other necessary sustenance
