Follow I-90 to exit #45. Go north and turn left on Road #9030. Continue on Road #9030 for three-quarters of a mile. At the “Y” stay left (straight) onto Road #9031 (Mason Lake Road). Continue for 3.2 miles to the trailhead at the end of road. **IF THE ROAD MAINTENANCE DETOUR IS STILL IN PLAY GO TO THE NEXT EXIT (47), GO OVER THE FREEWAY AND HEAD BACK TOWARDS SEATTLE TO ACCESS EXIT 45. THE REST OF THE DIRECTIONS ARE THE SAME.

TRAVEL ALERT: As of today those of you driving east (from Seattle) will have to drive past exit 45 (Bandera & FS Rd 3090) and go to the next one - EXIT 47 (Denny Creek) . At the stop sign turn left, go over the freeway and turn left again, back onto the freeway headed toward Seattle. You can then exit at exit 45 and turn right onto the forest service road. Follow this road for 3.5 miles and ends at the trail head. At the intersection to Talapus stay left.
