A clockwise partial backpack along the Timberline Trail which circles Mount Hood, and including all of the PCT miles from Timberline Lodge to Lolo Pass. Due to a trail closure at Timberline Trail mile 28 at Elliot drainage, Timberline Miles from Bald Mountain mile 16 to mile 28 are not included.

This hike or backpack is part of the PCT Series. Total elevation gain will be approx. 13,600 feet, or about 2,300 a day. Applicable map is Green Trails Map 462S -- Mount Hood Climbing & Timberline Trail 29 of the 41 miles of the Timberline Trail (Trail 800) will be included. Due to an impassable section of the Timberline Trail at miles 28 Elliot Drainage, the northern west-to-east portion of the trail will not be included. After car staging on Thursday morning, hike will begin at Jane Tilley Camp Trail head at north east corner of Timberline trail and end the next day at Timberline Lodge. Days three through six of the backpack will start at the Timberline lodge and then head clockwise Toward Lolo Pass on the PCT (Trail 2000), and include the section of the Timberline Trail 600 between Ramona Falls and Bald Mountain. The only portion of trail that will need to be hiked twice is a 2.2 miles section of trail between the junctions of trails 797 and 600. The backpack will include two side trips. One will be a 6 mile, 2,500 elevation gain round-trip hike up the Copper Spur trail 600B to the highest elevation of the trip, at 8,480 feet The other side trip will be a hike up the Yokum trail 771 to near the Reid Glacier, an 11.4 mile round trip with a 2,700 foot elevation gain to an elevation of 6,200 feet.
