First Thursday (April 7, 2005) Art Walk
I think its time to restart the first Thursday art walks. A good place to start is the old favorite of Pioneer Square.
Pioneer Square Schedule:
6:30: Global Art Venue 314 1st Ave. (off S. Jackson St.)
Northwest Fine Woodworking - 101 S. Jackson St. (off 1st Ave S)
Stonington - 119 S. Jackson St. (off Occidental Ave S)
7:00: Foster White - 123 S. Jackson St. (off Occidental Ave S)
DAdamo Woltz Gallery 307 Occidental Ave. S.
Grover Thurston Gallery 309 Occidental Ave. S.
7:30: Glasshouse Studio 311 Occidental Ave. S.
Davidson - 313 Occidental Ave S
Kibo Gallery - 323 Occidental Ave S (off S. Jackson St.)
8:00: House of Hong - 409 8th Ave S (corner of S. Jackson St.)
All these galleries are with in about four blocks of each other. House of Hong is ~6 blocks east in the international district.
For those UTHRs who have joined recently, Seattle has a first Thursday art night. First Thursday is where the art galleries stay open late (8pm) on the first Thursday of each month so people can visit them after work. We usually use the meandering mob approach to see the sights. The meandering mob is where there is a schedule of where I will be at certain times. Hopefully a group of people will join me to mostly enjoy and occasionally quietly mock the artwork. The schedule is so people can join the group at a number of different times, separate and rejoin the group, show up for dinner afterward after or whatever they want to do. There are no strict rules for this event and the ten essentials are not required.
