Gear Swap - Fundraiser 10/27 @ 08:30 Some of you may know Nancy Lamont. Both she and her husband, Jack Lamont, were heavily involved in the club until Jacks untimely death on a winter ascent of Morning Star Peak. Nan is struggling to make ends meet, and she is clearing out a garage full of Jacks old climbing gear. We will run a mini swap meet before the Everett Climb Leaders Seminar, starting at 8:30 AM Saturday October 27th at the Seattle MPC. All items are used, so buyer beware.
I have a bivy sack and a few items I will donate. All proceeds will benefit Nan and her family. If you have any things youd like to donate, please bring them. There are two other events going on, Seattles Small Party Self Rescue and Seattles Ice Climbing Clinic, so there may some critical mass to actually sell some stuff! If you are an Intermediate Student, this will be a good opportunity to build up your rack. Used gear doesnt go for much, but please be reasonable about any offers made. This is a fund raiser for Nan.
Nan is putting together a manifest of what she has and a few pics. Ill post that later. But here are some examples of things we could expect to see
- rock pro
- ice screws
- ice tools
- crampons
- tents
- backpacks
- bivy sack
- snowshoes
- avy beacon
- shovel
- probe
- soft goods like clothing, gloves, hats
- boots and footwear
