If you would like to carpool (either as rider or driver), be sure to sign-up at the same time you sign-up for your hike. A carpool match is not guaranteed.

Then, the Friday before the hike, check the website to see if you have been assigned to a carpool or call the clubhouse (206-521-6000) between 1-5:00 p.m. for the name and phone number of your driver or your rider(s). 

Contact your driver or your riders as soon as possible to arrange a meeting time and place. Drivers and riders may not be from the same neighborhood.  Mountaineers are NOT taxi drivers; therefore, no rider should expect to be picked up at his or her home.  Park & Rides make good meeting locations. 

Riders and drivers are expected to share the costs of transportation plus a share of any park entry fees, ferry fares, etc. The cost of gas may fluctuate due to the number of people in the car, the cost per gallon of gas, the miles driven, and the mileage the driver's car gets. Drivers are encouraged to keep the amount fair if they have several passengers—this isn’t a capitalistic enterprise.
