Class size registrations could affect the available dates.
FT #4 will be available on either day.


Feb  - #1 - in town  1/2 day
Hands on rock work & gear check.

[ March - Navigation - usually at Heybrook.
Covers map reading, taking & following bearings, and cross-country navigation. Weather can often be bad, so this is an excellent equipment as well as a first conditioning checkout.

Not required if you already have your Basic Navigation card ]

The Navigation Field Trip is an activity within a separate program---the Navigation Course---and is described here briefly as a courtesy to scrambling students. For more information and other dates, see the Navigation web site.
This is entered here since you must have your Navigation card to continue with the Scrambling Course and this is the LAST opportunity !

April - #2 - Snow - usually at Stevens Pass.
Covers Kicking steps, Plunge stepping, Self belay, Ice Axe arrest, Glissading, etc.
MUST attend Snow Workshop first !.

May - #3 - Rock - may be at Mt. Erie.
Provides instruction and practice in off-trail travel and rock scrambling techniques.  USGS maps not required.
MUST attend Rock Workshop.

June - #4 - Scramble Experience - usually at Teanaway.
Review of all Rock, Snow & Navigation skills. Final Equipment & Conditioning checks.  Summit scramble required.
USGS map required  -  Enchantment Lakes.
MUST have attended all Workshops.
