Photography Committee
Artistic Presentations such as exhibits, shows, and competitions are the vehicles we choose to display these photographs to tell a story, record events, show our creative expression, educate, and even make a difference in public policy.
The work of individual Mountaineer photographers is exhibited in many northwest locations. One of our members has had solo exhibitions at major natural history museums and art galleries from Alaska to Florida and California to New York . The Photography Committee maintains two print exhibits in The Mountaineers clubhouse in Seattle.
COMPETITIONS Northwest Council of Camera Clubs The Photography Committee is a member of NWCCC. We participate in the Fall Conference each year and currently enter one club competition:
For competition rules, go to: NWCCC Nature’s Best Photography Awards In 2005, The Mountaineers Photography Committee entered the club competition category of the annual Nature's Best Photography Awards competition. This is sponsored by Nature's Best Magazine and is one of the most prestigious nature photography competitions in the world. Our entry was awarded "Highly Honored Winner in Camera Clubs" (second place). Visit the Nature's Best page to view the winning images. SHOWS Members present musical fade-dissolve image shows at our monthly potlucks and at various outreach events.
