Navigation Instructor Sign Up

Instructor sign-up for navigation has changed. The new sign-up process takes advantage of the new Mountaineers Club database, including it's web sign-up feature. It can be used to sign up for a variety of activities, either as an instructor or as a participant.

Navigation instructor sign up is now done through the main Mountaineers website (no longer from this page). Directions are given below. Note that the navigation web site (you're in it now) continues to be the definitive source (other than for sign-up) for information on the navigation program.

How to sign up to instruct:


Go to the top level of the club web-site at http://www.mountaineers.org

  1. Log in
    • There are instructions on how to do it if this is your first time.
    • You'll need your Mountaineers ID number
  2. Do an Activity Search
  3. Select a date range ("any date is fine" is easiest)
  4. Choose "Navigation" as the "type of activity"
  5. Click on the Search button

A list of all of the workshops and field trips should appear.


Choose the date on which you are interested in instructing. You can click on the activity name if you want more details. You should also be able to see how many instructors are already signed up for the events, so you know where the greatest need is. If you are sure, click Go!


That's it. You will have been signed up and should receive an email confirmation shortly after completing the process.

Carpooling will be arranged by e-mail a few days before the Heybrook field trips, not through the Clubhouse. You will receive a list of all instructors and contact information at that time. Be sure your information is current!
