Mountaineers Trail Maintenance Trips

You'll find trail maintenence projects scheduled to coincide with National Trails Day in June each year and the President's Work Party each fall in addition to the many trail maintenance projects sponsored by all branches of the club.

Iron Goat Trail
The Mountaineers have been involved, through the leadership of member Ruth Ittner, with the Iron Goat Trail since its inception. This trail follows the route of the Great Northern Railway and is recognized as a National Historic Trail. Opportunities are year round. For more information, visit www.bcc.ctc.edu/cpsha/irongoat/. Mountains To Sound Greenway (MTS)
MTS works to protect and enhance the scenic beauty, recreation opportunities, and wildlife habitat in a multi-purpose Greenway along I-90 from the shores of Puget Sound over the Cascades to the Kittatas valley foothills. MTS has a number of stewardship opportunities, including tree planting, habitat restoration, and trail maintenance. For calendar volunteer opportunities, visit www.mtsgreenway.org. Volunteers for Outdoor Washington (VOW)
VOW is a non-profit service organization that recruits, organizes and trains volunteers to perform trail construction and maintenance and to restore natural habitat while preserving the rich heritage features found in Washington State.
