Leaders Make our Climbing Program Successful.

We had a great climbing season, with no broken bones and plenty of enjoyable climbing thanks to the dry weather this summer. Thanks to our many climb leaders for making this possible. I would especially like to thank the overachievers below, who earned appreciation awards for leading seven or more climbs. If you are interested, each leader is linked to the trips they have led this year.

Together, these climbers led 270 trips! As a token of our appreciation, they will each receive a 40% discount of Mountaineers-published books and a 30% discount on other books at the club bookstore for a year.

It is not too early to be thinking about next year’s climbs. With the climb leader website leaders can sign up today for 2004 trips. “Priority Climbs” are already set up for popular climbs, so leaders interested in the popular routes on weekends are encouraged to schedule these climbs soon.

If you are interested in becoming a climb leader be sure to check out Becoming a Climb Leader.
