| Barbie “Big
Hair” Summits |

Barbie has not seen the outdoors, let alone been out of her box,
for quite some time. Long gone are the days when my sister and
I would hike with Barbie up “Mt. Shuksan” on our parent’s
1970’s wall mural in the family room. Barbie has had her
eyes on that peak for years, never reaching an elevation greater
than 3ft. and miles away from the summit.

Barbie
on Eldorado
Barbie’s back! This spring she was seen climbing Eldorado with
the Mountaineers. Tough training for her first day back on the mountains,
though she pulled through with a successful summit. In pure climbing
style Barbie decided to “go light” and only wear her
Baja bikini. Her water resistant outfit weighed in at only 0.003
ounces.
When asked how she manages to climb without boots, Barbie simply
replied “With hair this big, I need all the help I can to decrease
weight!”
Barbie made the approach to Eldorado look easy and had her eye on
the summit the whole way. Since then she’s been turned back by fierce
weather on the West Ridge of Cutthroat but has managed to show off her rock
climbing moves during a successful climb of Kangaroo Temple. Look for Barbie
on a peak near you as she continues her training for the real Mt. Shuksan
in true Barbie fashion.
Go Barbie!
