Mountaineers Books
The publishing arm of club, The Mountaineers Books is one of the largest publishers of outdoor literature in the country. Hiking Guides, how-to, narratives and more.

The Mountaineers Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit that promotes the study, protection, and enjoyment of the Pacific Northwest's natural areas.

The Mountaineers hosts five year-round getaway and activity centers for Mountaineers and their guests: Mt. Baker, Meany, Snoqualmie and Stevens Lodges, as well as Kitsap Cabin. Reservation opportunities and special events are published each month in the Go Guide. Each lodge is managed by its own volunteer committee. Operating somewhat like a hostel, guests participate in clean-up and maintenance.

Reservations for a fun weekend at these facilities can easily be made by contacting The Mountaineers Program Center (206-521-6001) or by registering online - see below for links to each lodge's offerings. Guests at the lodge must sign a guest waiver form.

In addition to the mountain lodges and the Kitsap Cabin, The Mountaineers maintains buildings in Seattle and Tacoma. These facilities serve as program centers in these, the two largest concentrations of Mountaineers members. The facilities play host to classes, seminars, dances, committee meetings and a wide variety of public events. For hours and info, visit our Contact Us page.

Mt. Baker Lodge
Winter & Spring: Mount Baker Lodge is located adjacent to the Mount Baker Ski Area with its nine chairlifts and many downhill runs. The area is noted for its early snowfalls, deep winter snowpack, and late-season skiing. Backcountry ski touring in the surrounding hills -- to destinations such as Artist Point, Table Mountain, and Herman Saddle -- is especially good in the spring. The lodge has a breathtaking view of Mount Shuksan and is only a five-minute walk from the lifts.
Summer & Fall: Located within walking distance of several easy-to-moderate hikes and within driving distance of some 20 additional hikes, Mt. Baker Lodge is a perfect location for your summer and fall hiking enjoyment. Hikes are available for all ages and abilities. The abundance of wildflowers in mid-summer and red huckleberry bushes and vine maples in the fall provide an excellent opportunity for photographers and naturalists. Come and stay at Baker Lodge, and enjoy the beauty of the North Cascades.

Meany Lodge
The oldest of The Mountaineers lodges, Meany is located near Stampede Pass on a ridge above the Yakima River and surrounded by national forest land, away from the throngs at commercial ski areas. The lodge has private ski slopes with four packed runs for novice and intermediate downhill skiers, plus some extremely challenging unpacked runs for advanced and expert skiers, for a total of 32 downhill runs. Cross-country trails wind for miles through the surrounding forest with destinations such as Stampede Pass, the weather station, and Mount Frances.

Group and private lessons with Meany's PSIA ski school are available for all ages and levels of downhill, cross-country, telemark and snowboard.

Stevens Lodge
The comfortable and spacious Stevens Lodge is located right next to a great downhill area with 11 chairlifts, groomed slopes, and lighted night skiing. The lodge's 4,100-foot elevation creates the excellent snow conditions for which the area is famous. From the lodge door, you can ski down to the nearest chairlift with little effort, and from the Brooks or Barrier Skyline Express lifts you can return to the lodge - a great situation for any skier or snowboarder. Backcountry skiers have a variety of interesting tours nearby. The Nordic Center in Mill Valley features 30 kilometers of groomed, double tracks with a skating lane.

The lodge is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the ski season as well as extra days on holidays and midweeks. Check the Go Guide for details.

Snoqualmie Campus
