The publishing arm of club, The Mountaineers Books is one of the largest publishers of outdoor literature in the country. Hiking Guides, how-to, narratives and more.

The Mountaineers Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit that promotes the study, protection, and enjoyment of the Pacific Northwest's natural areas.

It is easy to become a member of The Mountaineers. You can join online, come down to our Seattle program center, or use the mail.

Stop by
If you live in or around Seattle, why not stop by our program center? Located in Seattle's Magnuson Park, The Mountaineers Program Center is easy to reach. Inside, our Member Services staff will be happy to help you join. Afterwards, browse The Mountaineers Bookstore to view our incredible selection of guidebooks, narrative literature, outdoor "how-to" titles, maps and DVDs. Be sure to take advantage of your member discount on everything in the store!

Join online
The Mountaineers is moving at the speed of technology, despite having already passed our hundred-year anniversary. Join online, and within minutes you will be ready to take advantage of the hundreds of activities, classes and special events listed in our searchable database.

Reinstating members: If you have let your membership lapse, you can now reinstate online! It only takes a few minutes, and you can begin registering for activities right away. Find out how to reinstate online.

Guest members: If you currently are a guest of The Mountaineers and want to convert to a full membership, you have a couple options. If you already use our website, log in and navigate to your Account page. There is a link that allows you to start a new membership. If you aren't online, but wish to use this method, contact Member Services to find out your login information. Otherwise, you can download a membership application or stop by our program center and we will convert your guest membership for you.

Family memberships: If you wish to add a spouse, domestic partner and/or children to your membership, you can do so with a family membership. Please see our FAQ about converting to a Family Membership.

Fax/mail
If you prefer to mail in your membership, you can either download a membership form, or contact our office and have us send you one. Then you can either mail the application or fax it to our office at 206-523-6763.
