Our library offers an outstanding collection of books, periodicals, maps, journals, videos and Mountaineers records. Our historic and current sources of information focus on outdoor recreation including rock, snow, water and mountaineering sports. There is also an emphasis on conservation, human and natural history. You will find the library to be a rich resource for trip planning, skills improvement (including "how to" information), and historical research.

We express our gratitude to all the volunteers and supporters of the library over the years, such as Friends of The Mountaineers Library, whose efforts have helped to make the library a useful resource for all literature related to mountaineering and the natural world. For those who are interested in searching the library's resources, we are currently investigating ways to make The Mountaineers Library collection available in digital format to allow advanced searching. The Mountaineers Library in Seattle is located in The Mountaineers Program Center. As you come in the main entrance, look for the stairs leading up on your right. For members in the South Puget Sound region, the Olympia Branch Library is available.
