Skim the water. Paddle through mists thrown forth by an Arctic wind. Mingle with orcas, sea lions and porpoises as they move through Puget Sound. These are some of the experiences that sea kayakers enjoy on our outings. If this sounds appealing, or if you are looking for a fun group of paddlers with whom to explore, then our sea kayaking activities are for you. Outings range from the Puget Sound area to extended trips along Canada's coast. The Mountaineers does not provide equipment, so you are responsible for making sure you have the correct gear, and many places around the Puget Sound have rental equipment readily available.
To participate in sea kayak trips with The Mountaineers, you will either need to complete our Sea Kayak Course or apply for equivalency through the committee.
