Trail Emergency Preparedness for Hikers and Backpackers (For General membership) - Foothills - 2015

First Aid Course

Trail Emergency Preparedness (For General membership) - Foothills

6:30PM on April 15, 2015, at the Redmond Library, 15990 NE 85th Street Redmond, 98052. Gain basic skills and information to handle the most common first-aid situations encountered on trails.

IF YOU ARE ENROLLED IN THE BACKPACKING BUILDING BLOCKS COURSE OR ARE A QUALIFYING ACTIVITY LEADER, DO NOT REGISTER FOR THIS SESSION - PLEASE REGISTER FOR THE VERSION OF THE COURSE DESIGNATED FOR B3 STUDENTS AND QUALIFYING FOOTHILLS ACTIVITY LEADERS.

NOTE: This class does not count for credit toward Wilderness First Aid/MOFA certification!  This clinic was created at the request of hike and backpack leaders who haven't been able to commit the time and money to complete the 20 hour Wilderness First Aid course, but still want a review of what should go in a first-aid kit and how to use it in common trail situations. We will provide new and long-time hike and backpack leaders with some basic skills and information to handle the most common first-aid situations encountered on trails: blisters, sprains, hypothermia, wound care, splints and slings as time permits. We will also review Mountaineers club protocols for responding to emergency situations.
